What Makes a Premium Wellness Studio Worth It — And Why Atlanta Was Missing This

What Makes a Premium Wellness Studio Worth It — And Why Atlanta Was Missing This

The last few times I wrote my thoughts down, I focused on other wellness businesses in the industry — from traditional bathhouses to the wellness studios popping up around Flatiron in New York. This past week, however, two meetings pushed me to open my Substack app mid-flight to RDU and write closer to home.

The first meeting was with my studio manager, whom I tasked with conducting a competitive study of comparable wellness studios in Atlanta. Her findings surprised me — in the best way.

This isn’t meant to disparage any businesses, but to give perspective on the sandbox that Do Not Disturb is operating in.

Our prices were higher than many local studios — but not by the margin I expected, and honestly, not by as much as they probably should be.

Why Value in Wellness Isn’t About Gimmicks

When you choose Do Not Disturb as your wellness studio in Atlanta, you aren’t being gimmicked into extracting value by forcing yourself into contrast rooms four times a month or unlimited times a month just to “get your money’s worth.”

You also aren’t being sold pseudoscience — like claims that infrared saunas are superior to traditional dry saunas because “red lights kill cancer-causing cells.” Yes, that messaging exists in the wellness marketplace.

At Do Not Disturb, we focus on evidence-backed wellness, intentional design, and high-quality execution.

Choosing DND means having multiple wellness offerings under one roof, allowing you to build a routine that adapts to your life — not the other way around.

If contrast therapy isn’t what your body needs today, that’s fine. We offer:

  • Private sauna and cold plunge (contrast therapy)
  • Dynamic therapy massage
  • IV hydration drips and injections
  • Cellular sound therapy (sound baths)

And most importantly — these services are delivered by some of the best practitioners in Atlanta, not generalists cycling through trends.

Wellness as a Lifestyle, Not a Location

Choosing Do Not Disturb is a conscious decision to prioritize your life around wellness — something I’ve done across multiple cities and stages of life.

From training facilities in Allen Park, Michigan…
To Charlotte, North Carolina…
To Thousand Oaks, California…
To Winston-Salem…
And now to Atlanta, Georgia.

Today, that philosophy lives at 675 Ponce De Leon Ave NE, inside a purpose-built wellness studio designed to fill a void Atlanta was missing: a tranquil, elevated recovery space that makes wellness feel routine — not reactive.

A Founder’s “Consumer Test” Inside Our Atlanta Wellness Studio

The second meeting that sparked this reflection was with Charly Arnolt, whom I hosted for a walkthrough of Do Not Disturb. She’s interested in building her own wellness studio in New York City, and it was refreshing to hear her candid perspective on the current market.

What struck me most was how aligned we were.

Everything she disliked about wellness studios mirrored what I disliked. Everything she found insightful or missing aligned with what I believed mattered most. In that moment, it was clear: Do Not Disturb represented the best of all worlds.

After she left, I did what I always do — I booked time in my favorite private contrast room at DND. Room 5 (if you know, you know).

This 50-minute contrast session felt different from the hundreds I’d done before — because this time, I experienced it purely as a consumer.

I focused on everything:

  • The temperature and clarity of the cold plunge water
  • The sound of sauna rocks sizzling when water hit the heater
  • The exact moment the first bead of sweat formed
  • The pressure of the shower head
  • The fragrance of the bath wash and shampoo
  • The softness of the towels
  • Whether I preferred the lights dim or bright

I was no longer the founder — I was the member paying for a premium wellness experience in Atlanta.

When I walked out, I felt more validated than ever. I chased the “wellness high” — and it hit.
